The SJGA Summer Program is divided into five divisions; Novice Boys, Novice Girls, Intermediate Boys, Intermediate Girls and Tournament Series.

The divisions are as follows:

This division is designed to introduce the game of golf to boys and girls who have never played or have played but are not ready to play from the forward (Red) tees. The players in this division play from shortened tees. The season is comprised of 5 play days of individual stroke play. The advanced players must have some experience either playing or receiving lessons from a PGA professional. We try to have a parent walk with each group and there is a maximum score of “double par” per hole. The juniors must be 8 to 11 years of age to participate.

This division is designed for the more advanced golfers who wish to play competitive golf.  The juniors must be able to score under 100 for 18 holes on a regulation golf course to qualify (counting all strokes).  The juniors first two tournaments will be used as qualifiers. Juniors unable to maintain a stroke average of 100 or less may be moved to the Intermediate  Division.  Juniors must be between the ages of 10 to 18.  The boys play within age groups (10-12, 13-14, 15-18, and Open) as well as the girls (10-14 and 15-18).  Points are awarded to the top ten finishers each week. Points are used to determine our Players of the Year.

This division is designed for boys and girls from 10 to 18 years of age who have never played or who have played but are not ready for intense competition. Juniors will play 9 holes in this division.  The boys 10-12 age group play the forward tees, 13-14 and 15-up play the intermediate tees.  The girls all play the forward tees but are placed in age groups 10-14 and 15-18. They will have 5 play days of individual stroke play. There is a “double par” maximum score per hole.
